Students meeting the criteria for transfer to the IBBA Programme may apply for change of major during their first summer at the CUHK. Under the University’s flexible credit unit system, students will be able to graduate after fulfilling all unit and programme requirements. Transfer-in students may also graduate within their normative study period if they have good study plans.
General Requirements
- Cumulative GPA ≧3.00 at the CUHK with good grades in HKDSE, and/or other public examination results.
- Non-BA applicant who has taken at least 6 units with an average grade of not less than B- of the BA undergraduate courses may be given priority (please attach a copy of academic report)
- Applicants would need to attend an interview on selective basis. Invitation will be sent by email.
- Application Procedures
- Application would be opened around June each year. Students should follow the application procedures.
Notice on Transfer Application 2024 - Students MUST submit the e-Application under CUSIS (Program Change) for change of major. For students who were admitted under broad-based programmes, they need to apply by submitting the hard copy application form (obtainable from RES).
- Students should also complete the application form and submit together the relevant documents to the Undergraduate Office within the stipulated application period.
- Portfolio of every application will be evaluated carefully, taking into consideration of candidates’ grades in public examinations, cumulative GPA and personal statements etc.
- Selected students MUST confirm their acceptance of the NEW major. A formal approval letter will be issued to students after the verification process by the Registry by late July.
- An academic counseling session would be arranged to the successful transfer-in students to the IBBA programme in around late July to early August.
