Remarks
- The “Attained” level in Citizenship and Social Development (CS) will not be considered in the calculation of admission scores.
- For Liberal Studies (LS) subject taken in 2023 or before, a Level 2 or above will be considered as “Attained” in Citizenship and Social Development. The LS level will not be considered in the calculation of admission scores.
- For Integrated Science or Combined Science subject(s) taken in 2023 or before, a Level 3 or above will be considered as an unspecified elective subject where applicable.

FAQs
- 1. How will Mathematics Extended Part I and II be considered?
For the IBBA programme, Extended Modules in Mathematics would be counted as one of the Elective Subjects, but it is not a must for student to take M1 / M2. The Best 5 subjects may include either Mathematics M1/M2 or an Other Language subject but not both.
- 2. Will Applied Learning subjects be considered for the admission to the IBBA programme?
Applied Learning subjects will not be considered for the admission to the IBBA programme as the elective subjects in the minimum eligibility for application of 4 core and 2 elective subjects, nor as extra elective subject for awarding bonus points.
- 3. How will Other Languages subjects (French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Hindi and Urdu) be considered?
Other Language subjects (with Grade E or above) will be recognised as unspecified elective subjects in meeting the entrance requirements in university admission. The Best 5 subjects may include either Mathematics M1/M2 or an Other Language subject but not both.
- 4. Will there be any admission interviews for JUPAS applicants seeking admission to IBBA programme?
Two rounds of interview will be arranged for JUPAS applicants. One will be arranged before the release of HKDSE results while one will be arranged after the release of HKDSE results. Only Band A applicants will be invited to attend the interviews.
- 5. Will IBBA programme consider students' performance in Student Learning Profile (SLP)?
SLP will be recognised as document of good reference value that reflects a student’s achievement in both academic and non-academic aspects in the admission process and serves suggests topics for discussion in admission interviews, if any. It may also help differentiate students with similar academic performance.
- 6. Will my Other Learning Experiences be considered?
IBBA programme will consider your experiences and achievements in Other Learning Experiences (OLE) as submitted under the Other Experiences and Achievements in Competitions/ Activities (OEA) template of your JUPAS application form. You may also submit your Student Learning Profile (SLP) through JUPAS for reference. If you are invited for interviews, you may also present your portfolio. The information may provide topics for discussion during interviews.
- 7. Any advantage for secondary school students in commercial discipline or if I take BAFS / Economics?
No. Chances of Arts, Science and Business students are equal. All subjects’ weighting would be equal.
- 8. Will IBBA programme consider my HKDSE Examination results obtained in different sittings?
For 2025 entry, the best result in the same subject taken by a candidate in his/her three most recent attempts of the HKDSE examination will be used for calculation of the admission score. The admission scores of applicants seeking admission on the strength of results from more than one sitting of the HKDSE examination will be adjusted.
- 9. Would there be any penalty for applicants repeating HKDSE?
Penalty of 5% or less will be imposed for IBBA programme applicants with results in more than one sitting of the HKDSE examination. Penalty may be waived for applicants with outstanding interview performance.
- 10. If I were admitted to another programme in CUHK, could I apply for transfer to the IBBA programme during my second year of study?
Yes, students meeting the criteria for transfer to the IBBA Programme may apply for transfer during their first summer (in June) at the CUHK.
